2005

Gabriel Resources Ltd- Romania, US $35,000

Gabriel Resources completed a water supply pipeline to benefit the community of Sasa Valley in the Bucium Communa. The Bucium community is situated in the Apuseni Mountain region where Gabriel is actively exploring Bucium exploration license. The 5 km-pipeline and water supply system were installed under the supervision and direction of the Bucium council with all supplies, labour, and equipment being supplied by the Romanian subsidiary of Gabriel, Rosia Montana Gold Corporation. The water system has now brought fresh running water from springs to some 40 households totaling 120 people.

Gabriel Resources Ltd- Romania, US $25,000

Gabriel Resources conducted a drill program on behalf of and under the direction of engineers from the township of Abrud to complete two water wells to supply fresh water to the town. The township of 6500 inhabitants does not have a reliable source of water, which can only be available for 2-3 hours daily and often dried up during the summer months. Gabriel through it’s subsidiary Rosia Montana Gold Corporation paid for the two wells as part of their contribution to the Apuseni Mountain region where they are developing the nearby Rosia Montana project in the Rosia Montana exploitation license.

Orezone Resources- Burkina Faso, US $100,000

Orezone has completed a US $100,000 well drilling program in the Hounde region of Burkina Faso near its Sebedougou, Intiedougou, and Bondigui properties. This comprehensive program includes community education and training in sanitation, hygiene, and well maintenance in addition to the geophysics and hydrogeology involved with the well drilling itself. The first pilot program has provided clean water to an estimated 6,000 people in five rural villages. A second phase is also planned near Orezone’s other properties in Burkina Faso, as well as Mali and Niger.

Orezone Resources- Burkina Faso, US $14,000

Orezone also completed a well-rehabilitation program near its Seguenega property in order to provide water through previously damaged or broken water points. The program involved the replacement of well heads and piping, as well as the building and maintenance of the protective surrounding structure and animal drinking reservoirs. The community education and training portion of the project is currently underway.
